Materials Laboratory Technician

Are you looking to start your career in a laboratory environment? We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Laboratory Technician to join our Construction Materials Testing laboratory in Harrietsham, Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and has an interest in construction, materials, or laboratory testing. Previous experience in a construction or physical property testing laboratory would be advantageous, but full training will be provided. There are also excellent opportunities for career progression within our team.

• Producing test results in accordance with documented procedures, standards and specifications.
• Carrying out testing/sampling activities in compliance with company and industry standards.
• Maintaining a safe, clean and tidy working environment.
• Ensuring laboratory equipment is calibrated, safe and suitable for use.
• Handling materials (soil, concrete, asphalt etc.) safely and efficiently.
• Ensuring confidentiality of all customer information obtained or created during laboratory activities.
• Working within our Red Lab testing facility.

• Experience testing geotechnical or construction materials.
• Strong oral, written and numeracy skills.
• Awareness of safe working practices.
• Good attention to detail and observational skills.
• Physically fit (role involves manual work, including carrying/moving samples).

• Starting salary of £25,397 per annum.
• Full training provided – no previous lab experience required.
