Overview

The Tower Technician III will install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. Support will also be provided in the maintenance and operation of generators, HVAC, and telecommunication site infrastructures.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Understand and implement Mas Tec Network Solutions (MNS) Health Safety and Environmental Policies (Safety Manual).

Understand and adhere to industry standards such as OSHA, TIA-10-48, NATE CTS, and ANSI.

Climb towers and ladders at various heights.

Erect various types of towers.

Unload materials and manage inventory.

Prepare and clean sites.

Install new carriers on new build and existing towers.

Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles.

Assist in the assembly of monopole, welded, knock-down self-support, and guyed towers.

Assist in installing microwave parabolic antennas (1 to 15 feet), VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas.

Assist in the transmission line and installation of foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguide.

Assist in installing all aspects of site foundations, grounding, conduits, and electrical systems where applicable.

Serve as a mentor to less experienced technicians.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Training

High school diploma or GED required.

Skills and Experience

Minimum of 4 years of tower experience.
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions from prints.
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
NWSA certification is a plus.
Industrial first aid certification.
Ability to climb towers, lift up to 50 lbs., and work up to 12 hours.
Valid driver's license and a driving record meeting company policy.

Working Conditions

Availability to work weekends and/or nights, and in extreme weather conditions if necessary.
Willingness to travel extensively for job-related duties.
Ability to work out of market or away from home as required.

Compensation: $30-$34 per hour, depending on experience.
