* * Reusable launch systems rely on the ability to move fast, iterate quickly, and integrate complex hardware and software workflows. Our commercial software platform enables advanced hardware manufacturing teams to integrate, track, iterate, build, and test more efficiently across their development lifecycle.

As a
** Software Development Manager**, you will lead a team of 6–8 software engineers responsible for a vertical slice of the product. You and your team will accelerate the development of next-generation reusable launch technologies. Your responsibilities will span three core areas:
1.
** Product Ownership & Management
** 2.
** People Management
** 3.
** Individual Contributor responsibilities
** You will serve as the primary spokesperson for your team, working closely with external stakeholders and internal technical leaders.

The ideal candidate leads with a servant-leadership mindset, cares deeply about team health, drives delivery through repeatable engineering practices, and operates with a high degree of ownership and autonomy. Crisp, clear communication is essential.

As a product owner, you will manage the team backlog and active initiatives. As a people manager, you will own career growth, hiring, and personnel decisions. As an individual contributor, you will contribute directly to the codebase—fixing bugs, implementing features, and performing code reviews.

This is a

** Responsibilities
* ** Manage the team backlog and active engineering projects
* Create detailed product requirements and make priority decisions aligned with product strategy
* Oversee the full software development lifecycle for your team
* Support career growth and development of individual engineers
* Manage team headcount, interviewing, and hiring
* Contribute production code: fix bugs, implement features, perform code reviews
* Partner with Product and Design to understand priorities, focus areas, and scope
* Collaborate with technical leads to evolve the architecture, improve quality, and reduce technical debt
* Contribute to technical and operational excellence across all engineering teams###
** Qualifications**
* ** 8+ years of professional software development experience
*** Strong individual contributor background delivering high-quality SaaS systems
* Experience driving product requirements and prioritization
* Experience managing and leading highly technical software developers
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Prior participation in on-call and incident response
* Proven ownership of features from design through production---###
** Preferred Qualifications
*** Experience with modern web development frameworks (e.g., React)
* Experience building reliable APIs
* Experience with RDBMS technologies
* Familiarity with Next.js or similar meta-frameworks
* Dev Ops fundamentals (Docker, Kubernetes/ECS, AWS)
* Experience with Apollo, Hasura, or similar technologies
* Hands-on CI/CD experience (Git Hub Actions, Circle

CI, etc.)
* Interest in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing workflows###

* ** Level 4:** $183,700 – $275,600
* ** Level 5:** $220,500 – $330,700
