Position Summary
We are looking for an Armored Van Driver/Cash Courier to serve as the face of the company. If you are a professional driver who enjoys interacting with customers and providing service levels that maintain happy and loyal customers, this could be the job for you. Our Drivers operate comfortable, lightweight armored vehicles and value not only what work gets done, but how it gets done.
Drivers are based out of the Syracuse area and serve clients all over New York, traveling to other states as needed. One to two nights per month (single nights) overnight travel may be required.
- Represent Empyreal as a transportation and customer service professional.
- Maintain positive, friendly, and professional communications with customers, co‑workers, and management in person, by phone, in writing, and/or through electronic means.
- Safely operate vehicles in a variety of traffic, road, weather, and daylight conditions.
- Collect, transport, and deliver currency and coin to and from vehicles and client locations.
- Load and unload ATM machines.
- Use handheld electronic devices to scan and track currency shipments and determine vehicle routes.
- Ensure the safe, accurate, and secure collection and delivery of clients' assets.
- Maintain communications with designated company representatives; report delays, customer service issues, incidents, unusual circumstances, and other important information in a timely manner.
- Complete documentation and updates in handheld electronic devices.
- Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle safety inspections.
- Maintain the vehicle, equipment, and facility in clean and operational readiness condition.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic qualifications are as follows:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- One plus year of experience preferred within a delivery driver, route driver, truck driver, medical courier, messenger, ATM technician, patrol officer, military veteran, secure transport, or security guard position.
- Working knowledge of navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web‑based or physical maps is essential.
- Must be able to maintain basic logs and records and use scanners and hand‑held devices.
- Can be counted on to maintain professionalism, courtesy, respect, and uniform standards.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally.
