** Accounts Payable Specialist
** Sea Mar is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to process supplier invoices and payments accurately and timely. This role maintains vendor records, supports reconciliations and month-end close activities, and ensures compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Review, code, and enter supplier invoices into Workday; confirm approvals, supporting documentation, and accurate company, cost center, location, spend category/GL account, project, and grant coding.
* Process daily settlement payment runs and other electronic payments.
* Maintain vendor records, W-9 forms, payment terms, and banking information.
* Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice or payment discrepancies.
* Reconcile vendor statements and follow up on missing invoices and unapplied credits.
* Monitor AP aging and follow up on overdue or outstanding items.
* Review credit-card transactions for receipts, approvals, business purpose, and accurate accounting coding.
* Reconcile company credit-card statements and ensure payments are made by the due date.
* Assist with month-end close, including AP accruals, prepaid expenses, and AP subledger-to-GL reconciliations.
* Prepare AP and credit-card schedules for management and external auditors.
* Assist with annual 1099 review, reconciliation, and filing.
* Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned.
** Qualifications
* ** High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
* Experience with Workday preferred.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
* Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
