The Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of tasks within the Accounting and Finance organization, including revenue recognition, maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers, preparing and analyzing budgets and projections as well as other general accounting duties.

The Staff Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller.
Classification:
Exempt
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are timely and accurately reconciled to the General ledger.
- Ensure the supporting details for the general ledger are reconciled timely and accurately each month.
- Ensure supporting documents are provided, reviewed, and approved by management personnel. (invoices, reports, receipts, etc.)
- Crosstrain and provide redundancy for full cycle accounts payable, including invoice prep and extremely detailed payment application.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation.
- Track all fixed assets addition/ disposal and depreciation calculations.
- Ensure all company accounting and finance policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Ensure all accounting functions are completed timely, so the financial statement can be completed and closed according to the published financial close calendar.
- Prepare documents for external auditors.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting.
- Associate degree or higher education preferred.
- Advanced computer software knowledge in various programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Accounting software, etc.
- Excellent task management and prioritization skills.
- Great interpersonal skills
- Keen and acute attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Positive, collaborative, and team oriented.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
