Salary Range: $40,000.00 To $45,000.00 Annually
GENERAL PURPOSE
:
Performs a variety of clerical functions and provides administrative support to the Zoo Director and Administrative Staff. This position reports to the Public Programs Manager.

Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position‑specific duties.
- Answers and directs incoming calls to appropriate individuals; takes messages as required.
- Responds to inquiries and provides assistance to customers and the general public.
- Assists walk in and online facility and auditorium rentals.
- Answer phones and direct traffic on weekends.
- Take daily ticket sales, stroller/wagon rental, and sell membership passes for GMZS.
- Operate and balance cash register.
- Cleaning and maintaining strollers, admissions counter, Visitor Center entry and bathrooms.
- Stocking and organization of gift shop area.
- Track daily traffic and create accurate attendance records.
- Provide assistance in other areas of the Zoo as required.
- Assist Minot Park District Marketing Director with obtaining photos and assist in planning, creating, and manage engaging content for all zoo social media platforms.
- Assist Minot Park District Marketing Director with ensuring that the Zoo’s website is up to date.
- Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD), providing operational oversight and staff leadership during assigned shifts.
- Supervise and support volunteers and part‑time staff as assigned.
- Collaborate with other managers to ensure a seamless visitor experience and uphold zoo standards.
- Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for zoo events and coverage.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent, AND three years administrative experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Licenses orCertifications:
- Must possess a valid North Dakota Driver’s License.
- General office practices and equipment.
- General knowledge or willingness to learn recreation software.
- Standard computer software applications.
- Basic accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Customer service standards and protocol.
- Knowledge of or is willing to learn Meta Business Suite
- Coordinating and performing a variety of administrative functions.
- Preparing correspondence, notices, brochures, advertisements, summaries, and reports.
- Maintaining departmental files, records, supply inventories, and office equipment.
- Answering incoming calls and providing customer service to the public.
- Work is performed in a standard office environment.
