Western Mass News is searching for a News Producer who crafts compelling newscasts and executes them from the control room on a daily basis. This person develops the day-to-day on-air look of their newscast and works together as a team with Anchors, Reporters, and other crew members to help attract the largest available audience.

• Produce daily newscast
• Conceptualize newscast rundown
• Collaborate with Executive Producer, field crews, and assignment desk to determine content of newscast
• Write scripts
• Research stories
• Pitch story ideas
• Participate in editorial meetings
• Preview material before air
• Work with reporters and directors on innovative production elements
• Incorporate and coordinate breaking news
• Work to constantly improve and evolve the look and execution of newscasts
• Execute the show from the control room
• Meet all show timing requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience
• Knowledge of TV news production tools is a plus (i.e., ENPS, Edius)
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and work as a member of a team
• Must be results-oriented
• Ability to work in a creative, fast-paced environment
• Ability to make quick decisions without losing composure
