The Lighting Designer is responsible for the creative and technical design of lighting for the assigned show in collaboration with the Director, Stage Manager, Producer, and other designers.
In consultation with the Director, develop an artistic concept for the production in relation to lighting.
Design and construct lighting rigs.
Develop and program computerized lighting system, prior to the first technical rehearsal.
Create a list of lights to be used for the show based on the plan.
Communicate to the Stage Manager, on or before a mutually agreed-upon date, a list of light cues.
Attend move-in to Coordinate the installation and focus of the lighting fixtures.
Attend Technical Week rehearsals to supervise and assist in the technical aspects of mounting the show.
After final dress rehearsal, leave the production a complete, updated light plan for the show.
