Day in the Life of a Medical Director
  • Evaluate and manage patients with opioid use disorder in our outpatient clinic settings
  • Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments as indicated by patient assessment
  • Complete medical documentation per Crossroads standards
  • Collaborate with clinic staff to provide holistic care to patients, including referrals to other medical providers and community services
  • Provide injections if needed
  • APP collaboration
Schedule & Locations

Primary center:
LaGrange, GA Target weekly hours: 8 hours (sample in‑center hours schedule: 5a‑10a, 6a‑11a, remaining hours admin/virtual) Flexible on the day of the week. Only 1 day a week in person for in‑center shift plus admin/virtual consults other days.

Education and Licensure Requirements
  • Active and clear MD or DO licensure to practice medicine in the state(s) in which patient care will be provided.
  • DEA in the state of practice.
  • Board certified in primary specialty in one of the following:
    Family Medicine/Family Practice, Internal Medicine, General Practice, Psychiatry.
  • Additional education or certification may be required depending on state of practice.
State Specific Requirements
  • Medical Directors must have 12 hours of approved training in narcotic‑addiction treatment within the 12 months preceding the date of hire.
  • A physician may serve as Medical Director of no more than two narcotic treatment programs and are within 50 miles of the physician's primary residence or primary office location.
  • The Medical Director can be more than 50 miles from the Crossroads OTP as long as they are only serving as a Medical Director for the one Crossroads OTP. This would include also serving as a Medical Director for any non‑Crossroads OTP's.
