Medical Oncologist / Hematologist

A growing community-based oncology practice is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Medical Oncologist/Hematologist to join a collaborative team dedicated to providing exceptional cancer and blood disorder care. This opportunity offers a combination of outpatient oncology and hematology services, infusion oversight, inpatient consultations, and multidisciplinary collaboration within a patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Prescribe and manage chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, hormonal therapies, and supportive care treatments.
- Provide oversight of infusion services and monitor treatment response, toxicity, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with surgeons, radiation oncologists, hospitalists, primary care providers, and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Participate in tumor boards and multidisciplinary case discussions.
- Provide hospital consultations, rounding, and shared call coverage.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ensure compliance with clinical standards and best practices.
Qualifications
Required
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine Residency and Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology and/or Medical Oncology.
- Active Illinois medical license or ability to obtain.
- DEA registration or eligibility.
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred
- Community oncology experience.
- Experience with chemotherapy and infusion services.
- Interest in clinical research and multidisciplinary care.
