Assistant Professor in Abdominal Imaging – Academic Clinician Track
University of Pennsylvania
· Department of Radiology, Abdominal Imaging Division
Pennsylvania, United States
Apply by 31 Oct 2027
About This OpportunityPenn Radiology seeks several Assistant Professors in Abdominal Imaging on the non-tenure academic clinician track to interpret cross-sectional and fluoroscopic studies, share off-hours call and teach residents, fellows and rotating medical students. Applications close on 31 October 2027 at 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
The junior-rank abdominal-imaging search is for Assistant Professors whose core role combines subspecialty body-imaging practice with active clinical teaching. Faculty may interpret CT, MRI, ultrasound and fluoroscopy and participate in the division's evening, night and weekend call programme. Image-guided biopsy experience is considered highly desirable but is not required. Teaching is embedded in daily clinical work through resident and fellow readouts, interdisciplinary conferences and education of medical students rotating through Penn Radiology.
The source also identifies responsibility for preparing learning materials, lectures, teaching posters and presentations for national review. Clinical activity takes place within Penn's broader radiology system, including the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Penn Presbyterian Medical Center and Pennsylvania Hospital, together with associated sites. Unlike the senior-rank companion call, this record does not add an unsupported educational-leadership requirement; it represents several Assistant Professor appointments focused on high-quality abdominal imaging, call participation and hands-on trainee education.
