Position: Testing Assistant (NKU Student Employment)
Location: Highland Heights

Job Description

The Testing Assistant (Student Worker) will assist with daily Testing Center operations. This position will assist in all aspects of test administration and customer service.

The Testing Assistant will also help with the promotion and marketing of Testing Services. Preference will be given to those who are able to work during the summer.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain confidentiality of students and maintain the academic integrity of tests received for test proctoring.
  • Begin and end all testing, answer phones, and greet all customers in a friendly manner upon arrival.
  • Delivery of tests and other documents to all NKU buildings.
  • Serve as a backup to Testing Coordinators.
  • Copy, scan, and email documents as required.
  • Manage and track time for proctored exams.
  • Attend resource fairs to promote Testing Services.
Qualifications
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to present to large and small groups.
  • Must desire to help other students.
  • Active listening and observation skills plus the ability to deliver clear, concise constructive feedback.
  • Must work efficiently and effectively, independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow department rules, procedures, and instructions.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and take responsibility.
  • Willing to take directions from staff and prioritize accordingly.
  • Must be able to work with diverse populations, including students with disabilities.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to commit to a full academic year in the position.
  • Must have and maintain a 2.75 GPA.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technology issues.
  • Must pass test agency certification exams to be able to administer certain types of exams.
  • Must not be in a major that will require a Praxis series exam.

Any candidate selected for this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.

Working hours:

Up to 25 hours per week for Fall and Spring semester. Up to 35 hours per week for Summer semester. Hours vary and will include some evenings as late as 8 p.m.

Pay Rate: $12.00/hr with the possibility of performance-based raises
