THIS POSITION IS FOR SPRING 2026

Flexible, up to 15 hours per week; not to conflict with your class schedule. You will only work when students schedule appointments with you.

Completion of online orientation is REQUIRED before starting. Tutors will earn a raise to $10.75 after completion of Level 1 training.

• Tutor NKU students, both in-person and online, in course content and skills for courses in which the tutor earned an “A” grade; maintain accurate records.

• Tutor NKU students who request assistance in improving their skills, knowledge, or understanding of specific courses; maintain accurate records. [ PLUS Tutors do NOT tutor writing or English composition courses;
  Writing Center consultants do this work.]
• Maintain adequate progress with training and development.
• Other duties as needed.

• Acquire signed faculty recommendation form and attach as “Letter of Recommendation” to this application. No separate letter of recommendation is required.
• 30 or more semester credit hours earned, including transfer/early admit work.
• Grade of “A” or “A-” in course(s) tutored.
• Enrollment in 6 credit hours during time of employment.
• Maintain GPA of 3.25 or higher.
• All new student workers must be able to come to campus to complete new hire paperwork.
• Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
