Paraprofessional

• The paraprofessional will demonstrate an understanding of child development and learning theory.
• The primary responsibility of the paraprofessional is to provide instructional support to students based on lessons that have been planned by the supervising classroom teacher.
• The paraprofessional will support the teacher in the implementation of appropriate classroom management techniques, which ensures a safe and orderly classroom.
• The paraprofessional will assist the teacher with clerical tasks, such as recordkeeping, copying materials, and maintaining a classroom environment which enhances learning.
• The paraprofessional will assist the teacher in the supervision of students at all times during the school day. This includes, but is not limited to arrival and dismissal times, movement physical education, and escorting students to another class.
• At the request of administrators or the classroom teacher, the paraprofessional will assist with other school related tasks which will improve the learning environment.

Salary will be determined in accordance with the Dolton Support Association (DSA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
