Director of Student Success & Professional DevelopmentThe Institute of Medical Ultrasound is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Director of Student Success and Professional Development to provide leadership in student achievement, retention, professional development, graduate placement, and career readiness.
This leadership position serves as a critical bridge between the academic experience and successful transition into the healthcare workforce. The Director will work collaboratively with students, faculty, administration, graduates, clinical partners, and employers to strengthen student outcomes and promote professional excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee comprehensive student success, retention, and professional development initiatives.
- Monitor student academic progress, attendance, engagement, and other indicators affecting successful program completion.
- Develop early-intervention strategies for students experiencing academic or professional challenges.
- Provide individualized student coaching and professional development.
- Develop and conduct mock interviews, professional workshops, and career-development activities.
- Establish and maintain relationships with healthcare employers, clinical partners, recruiters, and industry professionals.
- Identify employment opportunities and actively support graduates throughout the placement process.
- Maintain consistent graduate follow-up and obtain appropriate documentation of employment outcomes.
- Track, analyze, and report student retention, completion, graduate placement, and other student-success outcomes.
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation related to student success and graduate employment.
- Assist with institutional reporting and documentation required by state, federal, and accrediting agencies.
- Collaborate with academic leadership and faculty to identify opportunities for continuous improvement in student outcomes.
- Coordinate career fairs, employer presentations, networking opportunities, and other professional-development events.
- Promote professionalism, accountability, leadership, communication skills, and career readiness throughout the student experience.
- Participate in institutional planning, accreditation activities, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher preferred in Higher Education, Education Leadership, Student Affairs, Organizational Leadership, Counseling, Human Resources, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Doctoral degree holders and current doctoral/PhD candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
- Exceptional candidates with a bachelor’s degree and significant relevant leadership experience may also be considered.
- Experience in higher education, student affairs, student success, career services, workforce development, healthcare education, human resources, recruiting, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and professionally develop students or emerging professionals.
- Experience with student retention, outcomes assessment, career placement, or institutional effectiveness is highly desirable.
- Experience working within an accredited postsecondary educational environment is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of healthcare education and the allied-health workforce is preferred.
