Teach Charleston is Charleston County School District's alternative certification pathway for talented, knowledgeable professionals ready to translate their expertise into a rewarding teaching career in CCSD..

If you are interested, please complete the short Teach Charleston Interest Form. A member of our team will review your transcript(s) and contact you within 2-3 business days. If you qualify, you will receive a Teach Charleston Evaluation Letter detailing your qualified certification areas and next steps.

• A conferred bachelor's degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university with a minimum overall GPA of 2.75.
• A minimum of 18 credit hours in the desired field of certification with a grade of "C" or higher for applicants seeking certification in areas other than Special

• Have not previously completed student teaching in a traditional teacher preparation program or earned a teaching certificate.

To be fully eligible for a teaching position in CCSD, candidates must qualify for the program, pass the required Praxis subject area exam(s), and successfully complete a Teach Charleston interview. Entry into the Teach Charleston program officially begins after signing a teaching contract with CCSD.
