Best consideration date: 15 October 2026. The official posting does not state that this is a hard final deadline.
About This OpportunityIndiana University's CRRES offers a two-year postdoctoral fellowship for early-career scholars studying race and ethnicity across the social sciences and humanities, with particular interest in criminology/criminal justice, psychological and brain sciences, and human-biology anthropology. Applications received by 15 October 2026 receive full consideration.
The CRRES Postdoctoral Fellowship is designed for emerging scholars whose work examines race and ethnicity through a multidisciplinary social-science or humanities lens. The 2027–2029 cohort places particular emphasis on scholars based in criminology or criminal justice, psychological and brain sciences, and anthropology with a human-biology focus, while also welcoming work connected to African American and African Diaspora Studies, Native American and Indigenous Studies, Latinx Studies, and Asian American Studies.
Fellows retain a strong research focus, with conference presentations and publications expected to develop from their primary scholarly agenda. The appointment also includes teaching one course in each year of residence and active participation in CRRES and host-department seminars and activities. The programme is explicitly structured around career development: fellows work with CRRES leaders, faculty affiliates and mentors in host departments while building the research and teaching profile needed for competitive tenure-track searches.
The two-year appointment runs from 1 August 2027 through 31 May 2029 and includes a 10-month annual salary, health benefits and annual research support.
