Harvest Wind and White Creek Wind are neighboring wind farms located in Roosevelt, Washington, just eight miles from the Columbia River in South Central Washington. Harvest Wind, operational since 2009, generates 98.9 MW from its 43 Siemens 2.3 MW turbines, while White Creek Wind, operating since 2007, produces 204.7 MW with 89 Siemens turbines. Together, these facilities leverage their strategic location and advanced technology to supply reliable, renewable energy to the region.
GeneralSummary
The Wind O&M Technician shall have responsibility for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the White Creek Wind I wind turbines and site.
Primary Functions- Monitor the status of 132 Siemens wind turbines and station systems
- Control routine operations
- Perform basic routine maintenance duties on wind turbines
- Perform basic routine maintenance duties for Balance of Plant including pad mount transformers, collection system, fiber optic networks, and roadways
- Responds to alarms and abnormal conditions by troubleshooting and taking appropriate corrective action
- Performs basic routine maintenance and upkeep of site
- Keep the Plant Manager informed of the status of equipment and issues that can lead to lost availability so that they can be dealt with proactively
- Order and track the status of parts until delivered, as well as accurate accounting of site inventory
- Provide setup of workload forecast, schedules, inventory of labor/spares/tools, and documentation of work completed
- Able to conduct troubleshooting, work from technical drawings and technical manuals, and use electrical diagrams, logic diagrams and control circuitry diagrams
- Able to use diagnostic tools and hand and power-driven tools

WorkingRelationships
The Wind O&M Technician reports directly to the Plant Manager and works along with the Siemens service and maintenance technicians and supervisors.
CompensationInitial starting compensation will range from $39.07 to $54.77 per hour and will include an annual performance bonus.
Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsPhysical requirements include the possibility of standing for extended periods of time and routinely carry up to 50 pounds. Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties (e.g. hard hats, safety glasses, ear protection, climb assist, etc.). Must be physically able to routinely climb to the top of a 265-foot wind turbine tower and work in adverse weather conditions.
Position requires extended working hours and varied shifts with the possibility of weekend and holiday work as required by schedules, workload and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
Fitness for DutyAll employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a pre-employment drug screen and post-employment random drug screening.
Job Qualifications- Successful completion of a wind power technician program is desirable
