We are exclusively working on behalf of this client to find a Senior Management Accountant to join their friendly, professional, and experienced finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will lead and enhance all aspects of financial performance, providing insight and partnership to the business while maintaining robust control frameworks. This is a proactive, strategic role where your analysis will directly impact wider business performance.
Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, employee expenses, balance sheet, and intercompany reconciliations
- Lead budgeting and reforecasting cycles, partnering with business managers to ensure financial plans are robust and commercially sound
- Perform variance analysis and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions
- Drive business process improvements, implementing efficiencies where possible
- Manage and mentor a team, supporting their development and growth
- Collaborate across departments and multiple levels of the business to build strong working relationships
- Lead and enhance financial accounting processes in partnership with the Finance Manager
- Handle ad hoc tasks and projects as required to support the business
We’re seeking a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with management experience, ideally with a background in manufacturing. You’ll have strong financial acumen, excellent business partnering skills, and the ability to analyse and explain complex data clearly to colleagues at all levels. A proactive, curious mindset is essential, you should enjoy understanding the “why” behind the numbers, spotting opportunities for improvement, and implementing solutions.
Strong IT skills, particularly advanced Excel, are required, and experience with Power BI is highly desirable. The ideal candidate combines commercial awareness with excellent problem-solving, organisational, and interpersonal skills, and has the ability to lead, mentor, and develop a small team.
