Trial Balance Consulting are delighted to have been exclusively reengaged by an exciting growing business in Falmouth. The business seeks to recruit a Management Accountant who will work closely with the experienced Finance Manager who is focussed on developing the skills and experience of the successful candidate. This is a full-time, permanent position to be based at the company’s headquarters in Falmouth.
Supported by the Finance Manager, the successful candidate will also take a mentoring role in supporting the more junior members of the team and take lead responsibility in:
- Production of monthly and quarterly management accounts with accompanying commentary for the senior management team
- Project costings
- Cash flow forecasting
- VAT reporting
- Variance analysis
- Weekly KPI reporting to deadlines
- Working closely with procurement teams with ongoing projects
- Provide senior finance team with key financial intelligence to assist in ongoing projects, financial analysis, and budget/target reporting
- Commentating monthly financial reporting pack data to financial and non-financial department leaders
- Provide assistance and support for quarterly reviews and annual budgets
- Identify areas for improving financial performance of specific divisions of the business
- Regular liaison with external accountants and consultants
This role calls for an ambitious candidate, either operating in a business partnering or management accounting capacity, or as a senior Assistant Accountant looking to take a step up. Candidates should be AAT qualified or possess sufficient vocational experience, have a good understanding of a typical day-to-day accounting lifecycle and must possess excellent all-round IT aptitude. A generous study package will also be available if necessary.
This is a role that regularly liaises with colleagues in all departments and communication skills are a must.
