About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic and analytical Collections & Recovery expert to join our team to help manage and develop collections and recovery strategies across Pagaya’s portfolio of lender partners. This role will work directly with our Partners to build out this function and influence a broad network of fintech lenders.
Responsibilities
- Advance close and trusting relationships with partners’ servicing & collections teams while working towards common goal of improving credit performance through economic cycles
- Develop Collections & Recovery Strategies to enhance Pagaya’s oversight and strategic roadmap across our network of partners in our core asset classes (personal and auto loans) with the objective of achieving optimal loss outcomes for varied consumer segments in the portfolio
- Design, manage, and measure collection and recovery tests/strategies that improve roll and charge-off rates, improve returns, and optimize payment programs, enhance consumer engagement and outreach, handle Debt Settlement Companies, and maximize life-time recoveries
- Build, monitor, and maintain core collections and recovery KPIs by asset class and partner
- Develop business insights collaborating with internal teams and partners, maintain roadmaps and plans, and communicate proposals to senior leaders and executive audiences
- Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to produce better business outcomes in the collections and recovery space
Requirements
- 8-10 years of experience managing Collections and Recovery strategies
- Expertise in the US Collections and Recovery space, particularly with a focus on Personal Loans and/or Auto Loans
- Intimate knowledge of the consumer credit & collections space including best practices and applicable laws and regulations, such as FDCPA, UDAAP, TCPA, and Reg F
- Experience in fintech is preferred
- Expertise in collections and recovery processes, strategies, and operations, ideally with a proven track record of building and managing:
- Payment and hardship programs strategies and optimization
- Outbound and digital channel outreach strategies
- First or second line of defense risk monitoring
- Deep knowledge of recovery channels, including debt sales, repossession, litigation, internal recovery, and third-party vendor management
- Experience in analytics and BI tools will be a plus
