On-site | San Diego, CA

Compensation: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour

Are you someone who loves solving complex problems, digging into the details, and ensuring the right outcome for every member? Do you enjoy investigating issues, identifying root causes, and partnering across teams to make meaningful improvements? Looking for an opportunity where your expertise can directly impact member trust, regulatory compliance, and the financial well-being of our members? If so, we may have the perfect opportunity for you!

Below are a few more details about our Senior Credit Reporting Operations Specialist opportunity.

  • A compliance and credit reporting expert! Someone who understands consumer credit reporting, dispute investigations, FCRA requirements, and Metro 2 reporting standards, and can confidently apply that knowledge to complex member situations.

  • A natural investigator! You're skilled at gathering facts, reviewing account histories, analyzing supporting documentation, and determining accurate, well-supported dispute outcomes while maintaining meticulous documentation.

  • Not afraid to take ownership! You'll manage the full lifecycle of direct and indirect credit disputes, ensuring cases are handled accurately, thoroughly, and within regulatory and internal service level requirements.

  • Focused on quality and risk management! You have a keen eye for identifying reporting errors, documentation gaps, compliance concerns, recurring trends, and opportunities for corrective action before they become larger issues.

  • Collaboration comes naturally! Whether working with members, lending teams, collections, compliance, legal, operations, or credit bureaus, you know how to build partnerships and drive resolutions.

  • Always looking for ways to improve! You enjoy analyzing dispute trends, identifying process improvements, and helping strengthen reporting accuracy, workflows, controls, and the overall member experience.

  • Ready to make an impact! This role is critical to protecting member trust, ensuring fair and accurate credit reporting, and supporting Mission Fed's commitment to regulatory excellence and exceptional member service.

Here is what we are looking for:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in financial services, lending, collections, loan servicing, compliance, credit reporting, or related operations
  • At least 1 year of experience supporting investigations, dispute resolution, case management, or similar operational functions
  • Working knowledge of consumer credit reporting requirements, dispute investigation standards, FCRA, and CDIA Credit Reporting Resource Guide (CRRG) guidance
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to prepare clear, professional, and compliance-defensible documentation and case records
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong member-service mindset
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and experience working with case management systems and research tools
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Criminal Justice, Compliance, or a related field preferred
Bonus points if you have experience with:
  • e-OSCAR
  • ACDVs and AUDs
  • Metro 2 reporting
  • Symitar
  • Akuvo
  • Credit bureau furnishing processes
  • Loan servicing platforms
  • Quality control and audit functions
  • Bilingual communication skills
  • FCRA Certification
What we offer:
  • A great work environment. Our Team Members say so. We've proudly been named a Top Workplace multiple years running!
  • A collaborative culture where your expertise is valued and your contributions make a difference.
  • The opportunity to help members while supporting critical compliance and operational initiatives.
  • 18 days of PTO in your first year plus 12 paid holidays.
  • 6% 401(k) match.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more.
