San Diego Police Department Finance Internship-PAID

The San Diego Police Department Finance Internship is open to undergraduate and graduate students majoring in business administration, public administration, accounting, criminal justice, or a related field. As an intern, you will assist administrative staff with auditing expenses to ensure compliance with City and Department rules and regulations. You will provide training to stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable rules and assist the finance unit in documenting the applicable rules and regulations in a format that is easily accessible to non-finance staff.

The main project for this internship is to develop a comprehensive training program for non-fiscal staff to provide a clear understanding of the rules and expectations when requesting expenditures and updating the procure to pay manual. You will also assist with budget development and budget monitoring by downloading and formatting Business Objects reports and preparing them for analysis by analysts.
