Deputy Sheriff; Lateral Position

The Union County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff. This is a full-time position consisting of 40 hours or more per week. Competitive pay with Deputy salary based on experience. Overtime and promotional opportunities available.

Applicants must:

• Be 21 years of age or older
• Be a citizen of the United States
• Have a background of being a law abiding citizen/not convicted of a felony
• Not be prohibited by federal or state law from possessing a firearm
• Provide a copy of certified state birth certificate
• Provide a copy of DOCJT police officer certification/out-of-state certification will be accepted pending reciprocity
• Possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle
• If prior military, a copy of separation from service/DD214 must be included
• Be willing to work nights and weekends

Sheriff Deputies are provided a take home vehicle (distance restrictions apply) along with all safety/protective equipment. Sheriff Deputies must be willing to be away from home to continue an additional 40-hour DOCJT training annually, when necessary.
