HowYou Make a Difference
The Certified Medication Technician is responsible for administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and assisting with activities of daily living under the supervision of a registered nurse. This role ensures compliance with medication protocols and participates in audits and performance improvement activities. The technician documents medication administration and patient observations accurately while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality standards. They assist in training new staff, attend team meetings, and support overall clinical operations.
Additional duties include equipment handling, supply management, and floating to various patient care areas as needed.
- Administer medications and assist with activities of daily living under RN supervision
- Monitor and document patient vitals, symptoms, and behavior; report abnormalities
- Participate in audits, training sessions, and staff onboarding processes
Maintain medication supplies, medical equipment, and ensure regulatory compliance - Float between units, assist team members, and uphold HIPAA confidentiality standards
Education
- High School graduate or equivalent
Experience
- 1‑year related experience in a medical environment preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Must be certified as a Medication Technician in the state where services are provided
- Current CPR Certification
- Must maintain SRNA certification
