Location: Headquarters
Advanced Practitioner – Respiratory Physiotherapy - FNC+ (R3)
Join NHS Ayrshire & Arran as an autonomous expert clinician working in a clinical specialist role, managing a caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge.
Responsibilities- Conduct expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning and discharge of complex patients.
- Introduce new approaches to physiotherapy access and process, emphasizing health promotion and self‑management.
- Provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers.
- Liaise with and refer to other social and health services for comprehensive patient management and optimised outcomes.
- Maintain and improve all aspects of clinical governance, evidence‑based practice and quality assurance in partnership with the care group lead.
- Implement research and audit to develop services responding to national initiatives, policies and clinical governance.
- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration.
- Educated to or working towards a Masters level; postgraduate expertise within specialty/area of practice.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty.
- Advanced specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures.
- Evidence of applying advanced practice skills and clinical judgement in specialty.
- Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management, leadership and ongoing CPD.
- Excellent teamwork, leadership, listening, communication, interpersonal skills and effective time management.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Ability to motivate, influence and work using own initiative.
- Member of relevant specialist interest group.
- Member of CSP.
- Multi‑disciplinary work experience.
- Research and audit experience.
- Supervision skills.
Permanent, Full‑time, 37 hours, 7‑day rota.
LocationThis role will be based in FNC within Kirklands – NHS L Hospital Headquarters.
