Advanced Practitioner – Respiratory Physiotherapy - FNC+ (R3)
Join the role as an autonomous expert clinician in Respiratory Physiotherapy within NHS Scotland. The post holder will manage a highly complex caseload, introduce new approaches to physiotherapy access, provide expert support, liaise with other services, maintain clinical governance, and implement research and audit.
Responsibilities- Act as an autonomous expert clinician managing a clinical caseload of highly complex patients through expert physiotherapy assessment, treatment planning, and discharge.
- Introduce new approaches to physiotherapy access and process, increasing focus on health promotion and self‑management.
- Provide expert support and education for physiotherapists, health professionals, relatives and carers within and outside the service.
- Liaise with and refer to other social and health services to provide comprehensive patient management and optimise outcomes.
- Maintain and improve all aspects of clinical governance, evidence‑based practice and quality assurance in the service area in conjunction with the care group lead.
- Implement research and audit to develop a service that responds to national initiatives, policies and clinical governance.
- Registered Physiotherapist with valid HCPC Registration.
- Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.
- Post‑graduate expertise within the specialty/area of practice demonstrating required breadth of knowledge.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the specialty.
- Advanced specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures.
- Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in specialty and applying clinical judgement.
- Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.
- Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of specialty (study days, courses, post‑graduate qualification).
- Excellent team‑working/leadership skills and ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.
- Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time‑management skills.
- Working knowledge of basic information technology.
- Driving licence: required for all vacancies where a driving licence is required it must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
- Member of relevant specialist interest group.
- Member of CSP.
- Multi‑disciplinary work experience.
- Research and audit experience.
- Supervision skills.
Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week. Working pattern is a 7‑day rota. The role is based in FNC within Kirklands – NHS L. Headquarters. Applicants may be considered for similar vacancies in alternative locations.
