The position is onsite, providing a direct and engaging experience with our patients. You will be working in a home care setting, which allows for a personalized approach to rehabilitation in patients' own environments. This setting not only enhances patient comfort but also enables tailored treatment plans that accommodate specific home-related challenges. Our office is equipped with state-of-the-art therapy tools and employs a range of modalities to support healing and functional recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth physical assessments to evaluate patients' musculoskeletal conditions, reviewing history and current functional status.
  • Formulate individualized treatment plans incorporating a range of modalities, such as therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education aimed at optimizing recovery.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and techniques, adjusting treatment as needed for each patient to meet their progress goals.
  • Participate actively in clinical teaching, offering guidance to interns and other staff members to enhance their understanding of effective physical therapy practices.
  • Provide support to the clinic manager in initiating clinical research projects that contribute to ongoing improvements and understanding of orthopedic rehabilitation.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive health plan that addresses all aspects of patient recovery.
  • Document patient progress meticulously in electronic health records, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and facilitating communication among the care team.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This position primarily serves a diverse population, including postoperative orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries such as joint replacements, ligament repairs, and other musculoskeletal surgeries. You will also encounter patients with chronic pain conditions and those seeking preventive care to maintain strength and mobility. Your interventions will directly impact their rehabilitation journeys, enhancing their recovery speed and overall quality of life.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Active Physical Therapy license in the state of New York.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience in physical therapy, specifically related to orthopedics.
  • Board certification in Orthopedic Physical Therapy is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective patient interaction and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and proficiency in treatment techniques.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with clinical research projects or initiatives within the field of physical therapy.
  • Background in providing clinical education or mentorship to emerging therapists or students.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and documentation standards in the healthcare industry.
Compensation and Benefits
