* GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

** Sonographer with Cardiac experience and/or Cardiac Sonographer will be responsible for the independent operation of the sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating the results diagnostic exams. The DMS is responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance and quality assessment (QA).  The DMS will also assist in the administrative and clinical functions of Mid-State Health Clinic to deliver the highest quality of patient care.

** RADIOLOGY DUTIES:
*** Performs clinical assessment and diagnostic sonography examinations.
* Uses cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information and images.
* Uses independent judgement during the sonographic and x-ray exam to accurately differentiate between normal and pathologic findings.
* Adjust equipment controls; B-mode, M Mode. Doppler and Color Imaging as needed.
* Analyzes sonograms, synthesizes sonographic information and medical history and communicates findings to the appropriate provider.
* Coordinates work schedule with Radiology Director and/or scheduling desk to assume workload coverage.
* Assumes responsibility for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer’s care.
* Responsible for the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory.
* Maintains accurate patient records.
* Ensures operation of sonography equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
* Explain treatment procedures and prepare patient and exam room for examination.
* Complete medical chart to include medical services rendered, test results, and supplies used.
* Generate initial reports comparing current and prior studies for physician review.
