* Job Description:

** The Patient Transport Specialist Specialist is responsible for safely transporting patients between healthcare facilities and/or residences using a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. When not actively engaged in transport runs, this role functions as an Ambassador, supporting patient flow, customer service, and departmental operations. This position ensures a safe, efficient, and compassionate experience for all patients while representing the organization in a professional and service-oriented manner.

The Specialist will also monitor and manage oxygen tanks providing a supportive and ambassadorial presence.

* Key Responsibilities:

* · Safely transport patients between healthcare facilities or residences using a wheelchair-accessible van
· Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during transit.
· Monitor and manage oxygen tanks during transportation.
· Assist patients in and out of the vehicle, ensuring they are securely seated.
· Communicate effectively with healthcare staff at both the sending and receiving facilities.
· Maintain accurate records of patient transport activities.
· Perform routine checks and maintenance of the transport vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
· Provide a compassionate and supportive presence, acting as an ambassador for the healthcare facility.
· Complies with regulatory and accrediting agency requirements.
· When not on van transports, Assist with patient transport within the facility (wheelchairs/stretchers) and Provides way finding and customer service to patients and visitors.
