Patient Access Registrar-ER

Rotating shift to include nights/weekends/holidays

The patient access representative is the first point of contact for patients. The patient access representative’s responsibilities include collecting patient details, preparing admission and discharge documentation, explaining policies and procedures, and handling patient queries, concerns, and complaints.

• Greeting patients and their caregivers on arrival.
• Collecting information such as patient details, medical history, billing, and insurance information,
• Effectively collecting patient co pays for their visit or collecting patient balance as needed.
• Entering information into databases and maintaining accurate records.
• Verify all insurances as necessary to ensure accurate eligibility for coverage of treatment
• Providing patients with billing and payment information.
• Dealing with patient questions, concerns, and issues.
• Maintain departmental goals and productivity parameters as set forth by Director

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a clerical position
• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans is preferred
• Strong administrative and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems
• Ability to multitask and maintain strong attention to detail
• Compassionate and patient
