Systems Engineer II – Remote PST/CSTThe Systems Engineer is responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems, applications, IAM platforms, Active Directory, and associated hardware/software components. This role includes a strong focus on Identity and Access Management systems to ensure secure and efficient identity lifecycle management and access control across the organization.
Essential Functions- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, including Windows, Linux (Rocky, CentOS, Oracle Linux, open
SUSE), and cloud-based platforms like AWS - Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware and Amazon EC2
- Support and troubleshoot applications, including deployment, patching, and updates
- Participate in monitoring activities using tools like Insight
IDR, Data Dog, and Cloudwatch - Manage and maintain IAM platforms such as Okta and Cyber Ark, focusing on workflows, policies, and user lifecycle management
- Implement automated provisioning/de-provisioning processes and integrate IAM solutions with various applications
- Configure and manage access policies, roles, and authentication protocols across platforms
- Manage Active Directory domain and GPO
- Ensure all IAM and platform configurations adhere to security policies, regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, HIPAA, GDPR), Least Privilege access model and audit requirements
- Research and evaluate new security technologies to drive continuous improvement
- Work closely with managed service partners, internal teams, and business stakeholders to ensure services align with organizational goals
- Document procedures, configurations, and technical knowledge for knowledge transfer and compliance purposes
- Participate in system health checks, performance tuning, and troubleshooting for IT systems
- Provide 24x7 operational support for IT platforms, ensuring SLAs and KPIs are met
- Lead or participate in service restoration teams during escalated issues/outages
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities, including the ability to interact with technical and executive audiences
- Proven ability to build relationships with sponsors, stakeholders, and team members
- Ability to manage and deliver complex projects with significant organizational impact
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of experience in IT systems administration
- Strong hands-on experience with Okta, Cyber Ark, Active Directory and associated IAM platforms
- Solid understanding of IAM concepts, best practices, and industry standards
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python, PS, Terraform) for automation
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SailPoint Certified Professional)
- Knowledge of IT security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001)
- Experience with cloud platforms and Dev Ops tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Jenkins)
