Desktop Support Technician

On‑Site | Full‑Time | Intermediate Level

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Desktop Support Technician with strong customer service skills to provide on‑site technical support within a secure, structured environment. This role includes installation, troubleshooting, and repair of desktop devices, along with occasional support for related systems such as cameras, servers, and network equipment. The technician will support staff across the facility and may work in areas where individuals assigned to work details are present.

Professionalism, reliability, and adaptability are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands‑on support for desktops, laptops, printers, and related hardware.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Install, configure, and repair devices and operating systems.
  • Assist with additional technology systems such as cameras, access control, or network components as needed.
  • Support staff across the facility and maintain a professional presence in all work areas.
  • Document and track support requests in a ticketing system.
  • Follow established procedures, policies, and escalation paths.
  • Perform physical tasks such as lifting equipment and working in non‑standard positions when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team members and maintain strong communication with end users.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience in desktop or technical support, including installation, troubleshooting, and hardware repair.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to lift equipment as needed.
  • Willingness to complete facility‑specific training.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience supporting multiple operating systems.
  • Familiarity with account administration and user access support.
  • Exposure to imaging, deployment, and hardware maintenance.
  • Understanding of basic networking and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Experience with ticketing systems and documentation practices.
  • Interest in learning additional systems such as cameras or low‑voltage equipment.
Additional Notes
  • Strong customer service is equally important as technical ability.
  • Enthusiasm, teamwork, and willingness to ask questions are highly valued.
Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Sandy Hook, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $23.00/hr.
