About the Role

The IT Intern will join the Salas O’Brien Information Technology team and gain hands-on experience supporting a large, distributed organization. Internship assignments may focus primarily within a specific IT discipline, including IT Help Desk / Client Services, Cybersecurity, Networking, or Infrastructure
, based on the intern’s area of study, interests, skills, current IT initiatives, and business needs.

The goal is to provide meaningful, practical experience where interns can apply what they are learning, contribute to real IT work, and explore potential career paths within Information Technology.

Responsibilities

Depending on the internship assignment, an IT Intern may:

• Assist with technical support and troubleshooting of computers, applications, peripherals, connectivity, networks, and other IT services.
• Assist with employee technology onboarding, device preparation, deployments, upgrades, and other IT initiatives.
• Support cybersecurity activities such as security monitoring, documentation, vulnerability management, compliance, and security awareness.
• Assist with network and infrastructure activities involving LAN/WAN, wireless, VPN, switches, firewalls, monitoring, inventories, and documentation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, inventories, and knowledge-base articles.
• Research and test new technologies, products, or technical solutions and help identify opportunities to improve or automate IT processes.
• Participate in IT projects, team meetings, technical training, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Perform assigned technical tasks under the guidance of experienced IT team members and
