Data Scientists – North Carolina

Business Advisory Solutions Group (BASG) is connecting with professionals who have mid-senior level experience as a Data Scientist. The ideal candidates can turn complex data into practical insights and solutions and combine strong analytical and technical skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly and connect their work to business goals.

This posting is for upcoming contract roles expected to start later this year and located in North Carolina.

• Partner with business stakeholders to define problems, understand requirements, and identify opportunities to use data.
• Collect, clean, and analyze data from multiple sources.
• Develop and evaluate statistical models and machine learning solutions.
• Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to improve performance and decision-making.
• Present findings through clear visualizations, reports, and recommendations.
• Collaborate with technology teams to implement, monitor, and maintain analytical solutions.
• Support data quality, documentation, privacy, and responsible use of data.

• Experience in data science, statistical analysis, predictive modeling.
• Proficiency in Python or R and SQL.
• Strong knowledge of statistics, machine learning, and model validation.
• Experience working with large or complex datasets.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to business audiences.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in data science, statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Databricks, Snowflake, or similar data platforms.
• Visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Deploying and monitoring models in production environments.

Candidates must live within practical driving distance of one or more major North Carolina cities, including Charlotte, Raleigh, Durham, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, High Point, Asheville, Wilmington, or Fayetteville, and be available for on-site meetings or work as assignments require. Attendance and travel expectations will vary by opportunity.
