Operations Sherman Oaks, CA Full-time $55,000 - $75,000
We are looking for a detail-oriented and compassionate Legal Assistant / Paralegal to support our personal injury attorneys. You will play a critical role in case preparation, client communication, and ensuring our cases move efficiently from intake to resolution. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about helping injured people and wants to grow within a top-rated law firm.
Responsibilities- Manage active pre-litigation and litigation caseloads under attorney supervision
- Request, organize, and summarize medical records, billing statements, and police reports
- Draft correspondence, demand letters, and legal documents for attorney review
- Coordinate with medical providers, insurance companies, and expert witnesses
- Maintain case files and ensure all deadlines are calendared and met
- Communicate with clients regularly to gather information and provide status updates
- Assist with discovery responses, document production, and trial preparation
- 2+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in personal injury
- Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of personal injury case workflow (pre-lit through litigation)
- Proficiency with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Empathetic, client-focused demeanor
- Experience with medical record summarization and lien negotiations
- Familiarity with Filevine, Smart Advocate, or similar PI case management tools
- Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
- Knowledge of California civil procedure and court filing requirements
