ASSISTANT DISTRICT ATTORNEY PART TIME – Evening Session – Permanent-Pending Full Board Approval Salary Range: $72,836

This is a non-competitive Civil Service position Non-Bargaining Unit Distinguishing Features of the Class:
The work involves responsibility for assisting with the prosecution of criminal cases. The incumbent of this position is responsible for participating in the prosecution of cases of criminal violations of law in the County by investigating, preparing, and presenting misdemeanor and/or felony cases in criminal court. The work is performed under the general supervision of the District Attorney with wide leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in planning and carrying out the details of the work.
Performs related work as required.
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in New York State. Must be a citizen of the United States.
Special Requirements :Must possess a NYS valid driver’s license for court appearances across local justice courts and must be a resident of Columbia County, or of a contiguous county:
Dutchess, Ulster, Greene, Rensselaer, or Albany. Must be able to work evenings.
The incumbent will hold primary responsibility for covering evening court proceedings throughout the County’s local jurisdictions.
