The Quality Auditor is responsible for performing inspections and audits of raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods to ensure they meet established specifications and quality standards. Working closely with production and quality teams, the Quality Auditor identifies defects, supports root cause investigations, and ensures compliance with company and regulatory requirements. This role is critical in maintaining consistent product quality and customer satisfaction in a manufacturing environment
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct routine and random inspections of incoming materials, in-process production, and final products
- Verify product specifications using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
- Document findings in inspection reports and quality logs
- Identify, report, and quarantine non-conforming products
- Assist with root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes
- Monitor and verify that production processes are followed per standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Support internal and external audits as needed
- Collaborate with production operators and team leads to resolve quality concerns in real time
- Maintain calibration and cleanliness of inspection tools and work area
- Promote continuous improvement and provide feedback on quality trends
- Must wear proper PPE while on production floor.
- Communicate with maintenance, quality, and production teams as necessary.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in quality assurance or inspection in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, IATF 16949, or similar)
- Proficient in using inspection tools and interpreting technical drawings/specs
- Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Basic computer skills (data entry, spreadsheets, quality reporting software)
