Summary
The Operations Laborer is responsible for the operation of machinery and equipment in the copper manufacturing plant to produce high-quality copper products. This role requires an understanding of the production process, equipment settings, and the ability to maintain safe, efficient operations. The Operator ensures that production goals are met while maintaining quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of manufacturing experience and be comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Production standards.
- Operate and monitor production machinery to manufacture parts and components according to customer specifications and engineering requirements.
- Perform precise measurements using tape measures, micrometers, gauges, and electronic calipers to ensure product accuracy and quality.
- Interpret and follow production drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
- Verify product dimensions and surface finishes using inspection tools and measurement devices.
- Identify and report equipment malfunctions, quality issues, or safety hazards promptly.
- Cut, assemble, and handle components per work order instructions.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete required documentation.
- Support housekeeping and organization efforts to maintain a clean, efficient, and safe work area.
- May operate forklifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and apply technical information, gauges, and electronic measuring instruments.
- Ability to safely operate and monitor basic manufacturing machinery and equipment.
- Strong math and problem-solving skills, with the ability to calculate measurements, tolerances, and conversions.
- Proven attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production setting.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, or weekends as required by production demands.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment. Ability to lift and carry materials or products weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in noisy environments and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Work is performed in an industrial setting with varying temperatures, loud noise and heavy activity.
