Summary

Join our team as an Weigh Price Label Machine Operator on the 3rd Shift! We’re looking for a dedicated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Weight Price Label Machine Operator, you’ll operate be responsible for the accurate weighing, pricing, and labeling of products to ensure they meet company specifications and regulatory standards.

This role involves operating manual or automated labeling machinery, inspecting products for quality and packaging integrity, and maintaining a clean and safe workspace.

Principal And

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate Machinery:
    Set up, calibrate, and operate weigh-price-labeling machines to apply correct labels to various products (e.g., meat, poultry, seafood, produce, or industrial goods).
  • Verification:
    Ensure all labels contain accurate information, including weight, unit price, total price, "sell-by" dates, and barcodes.
  • Product Inspection:
    Visually inspect products for defects, damage, or packaging errors before labeling. Reject products that do not meet quality standards.
  • Label Accuracy:
    Frequently verify that the printed label matches the product type and weight. Immediate reporting of misprints or calibration errors is required.
  • Packaging Integrity:
    Check that wrap/seal is tight and secure to prevent contamination or spoilage (specifically for food products).
  • Sanitization:
    Clean and sanitize weighing scales and labeling equipment at the start and end of shifts, or as needed, complying with hygiene regulations (e.g., USDA/FDA standards).
  • Safety Compliance:
    Adhere to all OSHA safety guidelines, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hairnets, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
  • Workstation Maintenance:
    Keep the work area free of debris and clutter to prevent accidents.
Minimum Education
  • High School or equivalent beneficial but not required.

    Skills:

    Ability to operate digital scales and touch-screen machinery. Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, decimals) are required for verifying weights and prices.
  • Experience:

    Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, or a grocery retail environment is a plus, but on-the-job training is often provided.
  • Attention to Detail:
    High level of accuracy is essential to prevent pricing errors and regulatory fines.
  • Communication:
    Ability to read and understand production orders and safety instructions in English.
