The position of Maintenance Clerk is responsible for providing inventory control and parts room organization, monitoring shipments received and matching packing slips. Writes requisitions for parts and other plant items. Maintains the plant equipment library. This position in the maintenance classification is expected to perform the job functions under minimal or no supervision.
Responsibilities- The Maintenance Clerk maintains a clean, organized working environment at all times.
- Coordinates with the receiving department to match all packing slips to items received.
- Searches the vendors to find the best price for plant parts.
- Implements periodic competitive bidding to ensure best price and service level.
- Completes daily SAP entries such as equipment parts received and issued, inventory updates, and minimum/maximum levels.
- Writes requisitions for parts and other plant items.
- Maintains an organized vendor filing system.
- Keeps all shelves and cabinets clean and labeled and/or bar coded.
- Maintains copies of any documents that may be needed.
- Ensures compliance to quality, food safety, 5S, OSHA and HACCP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
- Complete initial/annual training to ensure the individual is properly qualified (QI) to perform all required job tasks as outlined in training programs/records.
- Work with coordinator to ensure zero stock list is kept at a minimum of less than 5%.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic mechanical aptitude, computer skills, and math skills.
- Positive attitude and problem‑solving mentality.
- Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and verbal formats.
- Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast‑paced environment.
The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non‑toxic industrial waste and scrap. SLIP‑RESISTANT/Steel‑toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the Team Member.
