CNC Technician 3rd shift

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Operator responsible for independently running, monitoring, and performing basic adjustments on Computer Numerical Control (CNC) mills under moderate supervision. They will help oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our CNC machining department. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in CNC machining, proven skills, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety.

This role ensures production goals are met while maintaining high standards of workmanship and optimizing resource utilization.

Duties:

• Assist a team of CNC machinists and operators across multiple shifts.
• Assist with CNC machining operations to meet production deadlines and customer requirements.
• Review blueprints, engineering plans, and production schedules to determine setup procedures, machining sequences, and dimensions.
• Set up and operate CNC machines when necessary to support production or resolve complex issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining, programming, or tooling issues to minimize downtime.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety protocols, and quality standards.
• Provide coaching and assist with training new team members.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and maintenance departments to ensure smooth workflow.
• Assist with the monitor and control over inventory of tools and materials used in CNC operations.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
• Load raw materials, clamp work pieces, start cycles, and unload finished parts on CNC mills.
• Perform basic tool changes, adjust tool and work offsets, and monitor feed rates and speeds.
• Inspect first-run pieces and routine production parts using precision measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance, fluid checks, and chip/scrap removal while adhering to shop safety protocols and wearing proper PPE.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in machining or manufacturing is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in CNC machining.
• Proficient in reading technical drawings and blueprints.
• Above-average understanding of G-code programming and CNC machine controls (Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, etc.).
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to lead by example in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ability to write in English.
• Ability to speak English and/or Spanish.

Physical requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to repetitively bend, squat, kneel, push, pull, lift, and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing facility environment and office environment.
• Protective equipment must be worn as required.
