The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for operating CNC machinery to support daily production requirements while maintaining MASS Precision's quality, safety, and productivity standards. This entry-level position is intended for individuals interested in developing their skills in precision manufacturing and CNC machining.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, dependable, and willing to learn. Previous CNC machining experience is preferred but not required, as hands-on training will be provided.

This position focuses primarily on machine operation, part inspection, and production support. CNC programming and independent machine setup are not required.## DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operate CNC milling and/or turning machines using established programs and machine setups.
* Load and unload raw materials and finished parts safely and efficiently.
* Follow work instructions, production travelers, and established operating procedures.
* Verify that materials and parts meet job requirements before and during production.
* Perform basic part inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
* Learn to read and interpret basic engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.
* Monitor machine operations to identify potential production or quality concerns.
* Notify supervisors or setup personnel of machine malfunctions, defective parts, or production issues.
* Maintain required production rates while ensuring parts meet quality standards.
* Complete production documentation and accurately record labor and completed quantities in Epicor.
* Assist with basic machine cleaning and routine maintenance activities as directed.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following 6S practices.
* Work closely with setup personnel, Quality, and department leadership to ensure production requirements are met.
* Participate in training and development opportunities to improve machining knowledge and technical skills.
* Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by management.## Qualifications## EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience preferred.
* Previous manufacturing, production, machine operation, or mechanical experience preferred but not required.
* Previous CNC machining experience is a plus.
* Technical school coursework or vocational training in machining, manufacturing, or mechanical technology preferred.
* Familiarity with hand tools, measuring equipment, or industrial machinery is a plus.
* Willingness to participate in hands-on training and develop CNC operating skills required.## KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
* Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn CNC machine operations.
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
* Ability to learn basic blueprint reading and dimensional inspection techniques.
* Willingness to learn how to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools.
* Basic computer skills and ability to learn manufacturing software, including Epicor.
* Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to identify and communicate quality, equipment, or production concerns.
* Dependable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.

* Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during assigned shifts.

* Ability to lift and move materials up to 25 pounds independently, with assistance or mechanical equipment for heavier items.
