Description:


Position: Fab Shop - Metal Fabricator

• Interpret drawings, sketches, manuals, or verbal instructions to plan and execute metal fabrication tasks.
• Layout, mark, cut, burn, shear, punch, roll, bend, and straighten steel components.
• Operate lathes, milling machines, brake presses, shears, ironworkers, metal cutting saws, grinders, and other fabrication tools.
• Perform related duties as assigned, including work at customer job sites.
• Work independently or as part of a team to meet production goals.
• Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining quality standards.
• Stand or sit for extended periods as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

• 4-7 years of experience in a machine shop or metal fabrication environment, or equivalent combination of education, experience, and demonstrated accomplishments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and coordination.
• Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and developing operational sequences.
• Familiarity with lathes, milling machines, brake presses, shears, drills, saws, grinders, and other metal fabrication tools.
• Basic understanding of computers.
• Good interpersonal, teamwork, oral, and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work safely.

• Comply with OSHA regulations and internal safety policies.
• Use all required PPE and equipment.
• Report any hazards, risks, or unsafe practices immediately to a supervisor.
• Never disable protective devices without providing safe alternatives; restore devices after work.
• Operate machinery and equipment safely to prevent harm.
• Attend and apply knowledge from mandatory Health and Safety training programs (e.g., WHMIS, orientation).

• Experience in the manufacturing industry.
• Hands-on experience with metal fabrication machinery, including brake presses, lathes, drills, saws, and grinders.

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
