The Mountain Advocate is a locally owned weekly newspaper serving the Knox County, Kentucky area with trusted news, features, and advertising solutions. In addition to our print publication, we offer digital advertising opportunities through our website and social media platforms, helping local businesses reach audiences both in print and online.

We are seeking a motivated

Advertising Sales Representative to selladvertisingspace in the weekly newspaper as well as digitaladvertisingon our website and social media channels. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships with local businesses, understands the value of community-based marketing, and is comfortable selling both traditional and digital advertising solutions.

• Sell print advertising space in the weekly newspaper to new and existing clients
• Promote and sell digital advertising options, including website banner ads, sponsored content, and social media advertising
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, organizations, and agencies
• Prospect for newadvertisersthrough cold calling, networking, and community involvement
• Create customizedadvertisingpackages that combine print and digital platforms
• Work with clients to understand their marketing goals and recommend effectiveadvertisingsolutions
• Prepareadvertisingproposals, rate quotes, and insertion orders
• Coordinate with editorial, design, and production staff to ensure ads run accurately and on schedule
• Follow up with advertisers to ensure satisfaction and encourage repeat business
• Track sales activity and maintain accurate client records

• Previous sales experience preferred;advertisingor media sales experience is a plus
• Strong communication, negotiation, and customer service skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Comfortable using email, basic computer applications, and social media platforms
• Familiarity with digitaladvertisingand social media marketing is preferred (training available)
• Knowledge of the local community and business landscape is a plus
• Reliable transportation for local sales calls
