Job Description & How to Apply Below

Science is a clinical stage, vertically integrated technology company focused on solving some of neuroscience’s hardest questions and most serious unmet medical needs. We work to restore quality of life to those with debilitating conditions for which there are no treatment options, creating devices aimed at restoring vision, cognition, and mobility to patients who have lost it. To support progress across our industry, we provide state-of-the-art components and vertically integrated infrastructure for others to build on via Science Foundry.

This is an exciting time to join. PRIMA, our wireless subretinal implant for geographic atrophy secondary to age-related macular degeneration (AMD), was evaluated in the PRIMAvera pivotal study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Geographic atrophy is a leading cause of irreversible vision loss, and this role offers a rare opportunity to build the US marketing strategy for a genuinely new technology from the ground up.

PRIMA is CE marked in the European Union and registered for supply in the United Kingdom and we are preparing for the US regulatory approval.

We are seeking a Marketing Director to shape and lead the US marketing strategy for PRIMA. Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, this role will define how Science enters the market & builds awareness among our two key customer groups—healthcare providers and patients—and prepares the US market for PRIMA, subject to regulatory approval. You will develop the US market and launch strategy, positioning, and multi-year marketing plan, and oversee their delivery across professional education, congresses, digital, and patient advocacy channels.

The ideal candidate has launched Class III medical devices in the US, brings deep experience in both HCP and patient marketing, and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced, pre-commercial environment. You will work closely with leaders across clinical, regulatory, medical affairs, and market access, and demonstrate commitment to Science's mission. This role is based in the United States.

Role Responsibilities
  • Develop and own the US marketing and launch strategy for PRIMA, including market segmentation, positioning, and a multi-year marketing plan aligned with regulatory milestones and company objectives
  • Define the HCP marketing strategy for retina specialists, ophthalmologists, optometrists, and referring clinicians, including messaging, value propositions, and professional education priorities
  • Define the patient and caregiver marketing strategy, including disease awareness, patient journey mapping, and partnerships with patient advocacy and low-vision organizations
  • Shape Science's US congress and medical education strategy (e.g., AAO, ASRS), ensuring communications remain scientific and non-promotional prior to FDA approval
  • Lead market research and competitive intelligence to build deep insight into the US geographic atrophy landscape, customer needs, and referral pathways
  • Partner with market access, reimbursement, and commercial leadership on launch readiness, including implanting center strategy and referral network development
  • Set the marketing budget, KPIs, and measurement framework; select and direct agency partners and hold them accountable for performance
  • Work with the Chief Communications Officer and the regulatory, legal, and medical affairs teams to ensure all communications comply with FDA requirements, including restrictions on pre-approval promotion
Key Qualifications
  • 8+ years of marketing experience in the medical device industry, with progressive responsibility for marketing strategy
  • Direct experience launching one or more Class III (PMA) medical devices in the US
  • Proven experience developing and leading both HCP and patient…
