** As a
** Social Media Intern**, you’ll help bring the people, projects and stories of Walbec Group to life across our social channels. This hands-on, field-focused role will take you to jobsites, plants, shops and events to capture the everyday moments behind our work, from impressive projects and unique equipment to team culture and career opportunities. You’ll work alongside experienced marketing and media professionals while having the freedom to pitch ideas, experiment with content and build a strong portfolio of work that will be published across Walbec Group’s channels.
** WHAT YOU’LL DO**
* ** Get out in the field.
** Visit jobsites, plants, shops and company events to capture timely, social-first photo and video content.
* ** Find and tell the story.
** Talk with team members, ask questions and uncover the people, projects and moments that showcase our work, culture and capabilities.
* ** Create engaging content.
** Capture and edit Reels, short-form video, photos and Stories for Linked In, Facebook, Instagram and other channels.
* ** Bring us fresh ideas.
** Pitch creative concepts, recurring content series and new approaches that fit our brand and help us connect with our audiences.
* ** Support our social presence.
** Help plan the content calendar, write social copy and maintain a consistent pipeline of content across Walbec's family of companies.
* ** Stay curious.
** Follow social trends, learn what resonates with our audiences and look for new ways to tell construction stories.
* ** Represent our team well.
** Create content that authentically showcases our people and reflects Walbec's Core Values and commitment to safety, quality and excellence.
** WHAT YOU BRING
** We're looking for someone who is creative, curious and confident enough to walk onto a jobsite, introduce themselves and start asking questions. You don't need to know construction when you arrive, but you need to be genuinely interested in learning it.
The strongest candidate will:
* Be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, PR, or a related field.
* Have hands-on experience creating social content through an internship, job, student organization, coursework, freelance work or personal portfolio.
* Understand what makes content engaging across platforms including Instagram, Facebook and Linked In.
* Be comfortable capturing and editing quality photo and video content using a smartphone and tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Cap Cut or similar platforms.
* Be a strong, conversational communicator who can write concise social copy and confidently approach people, ask questions and uncover the story.
* Bring curiosity, creativity, confidence and a sense of humor, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of personalities.
* Be a self-starter who can spot opportunities, run with an idea and balance planned assignments with unexpected content opportunities.
* Have good judgment, professionalism and a willingness to receive feedback while representing our people and brand authentically.
