# Marketing Strategist
** HOW THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT
*** At many agencies, a marketing strategist writes plans and hands them off. At OTM, this person builds both the strategy and the system that carries it out.
* The Marketing Strategist turns a client’s business goals into a marketing plan, designs the processes, tools, and AI workflows needed to execute it, and is accountable for the results.
* This role requires strong B2B marketing experience, an AI-first approach, and systems thinking.
* The strategist understands how positioning, channels, content, data, and sales connect. AI supports research, analysis, and first drafts. The strategist applies judgment, makes decisions, and owns the outcome.
*
* Location:

** Position is either fully remote or hybrid at our Fort Collins, CO office.
** BENEFITS
* ** Optional healthcare with employer-contributed funds ($1,500 per year)
* Optional retirement plan with a 3% match up to $1,500 per year (401k)
* 7 Paid holidays and 1 full week off in December (5 days)
* Paid birthday off
* 10 days of accrued PTO starting from the date of hire
* Annual education budget
** SIGNATURE MOVES
*** Strategy development:
Build marketing strategies around client goals, ideal customer profiles (ICPs), competitive position, and data.
* System design:
Create repeatable processes, tools, and workflows that carry out the strategy.
* AI-first execution:
Use AI for research, analysis, and first drafts, and improve those workflows over time.
* Channel planning:
Choose the right mix of channels and tactics, with budget and effort tied to expected return.
* Performance management:
Set KPIs, track results, and adjust the plan based on the data.
* Client leadership:
Present strategy clearly, gain client agreement, and guide decisions.
** WHO SUCCEEDS IN THIS ROLE
** The right person:
* Has 7+ years of B2B marketing strategy experience and results they can point to.
* Thinks in systems and understands how each part of a marketing plan affects the others.
* Uses AI daily and looks for ways to use it more effectively.
* Builds processes and templates instead of solving the same problem twice.
* Makes decisions from data and can explain the reasoning behind them.
* Connects marketing work to pipeline and revenue, not just activity.
* Explains complex strategy in plain language to clients and teammates.
* Pushes back on clients when needed, with evidence.
* Works independently and manages multiple client accounts at once.
* Changes the plan when results show it is not working.
* Stays current with marketing tools, channels, and AI capabilities.
