At Distro Kid, we help artists share their music with the world. Around 40-50% of the world’s new music is released through Distro Kid today.
We're hiring a Growth Product Manager (Senior to Staff level) to help us achieve our big vision that everyone who makes music has a Distro Kid account.
At Distro Kid, our product and marketing funnels evolved in parallel. This role unites them and owns the whole picture: member growth end to end, from how artists find us through to how they get value and stay for the long haul. Within the goals leadership sets, you’ll establish where the leverage is, back it with data, and ship.
We're looking for someone who has done this before. You've owned growth at a high-growth consumer or subscription business, you've seen what works and what doesn't across the funnel, and you'll arrive with a point of view on what we should do. A big part of this role is bringing that experience with you and helping the rest of the company get better at growth.
You'll partner with our staff marketing engineer to direct a small, diligent cross-functional team, and work with them while working across product, marketing, data, and design. This role reports into product and treats marketing as an equal partner in setting priorities. You'll shape a single growth backlog, balancing measurable wins against the longer-term bets worth protecting. You'll build the framework that sizes every growth opportunity on the same terms, so prioritization performs on evidence and expected impact.
Ideas and market intelligence come from across the company; you turn the greatest of them into instrumented experiments tied to the product roadmap.
- Own member growth, the growth strategy, and the prioritized backlog that moves it, and build the measurement framework the company uses to size and evaluate growth bets
- Navigate the full funnel to achieve our growth goals, including acquisition, onboarding, activation, retention, reactivation, and referrals
- Set the standard for how we run experiments end to end: hypothesis, instrumentation, analysis, iteration, and knowing when to stop
- Use AI tooling to compress the loop from idea to shipped experiment, multiplying what a small, nimble team can ship
- Keep the executive team clear on what you're doing, why, and what you're trading off
- Bring what you've learned on the consumer growth teams you've worked on (and keep learning from the best ones), and adapt it to how artists find and use Distro Kid
- Raise the growth bar across the company, helping PMs and marketers surface and clear their own growth blockers
- Use and iterate on the artist tools and promo assets we already have to build organic and viral growth loops.
- 7+ years in product, including 5+ years working directly in growth
- 3+ years owning a growth number (paying members, conversion, retention, or self-serve revenue) and the metrics that drive it, at a high-growth consumer or subscription business
- Experience across several parts of the funnel (acquisition, conversion, activation, engagement, retention and churn), not just one step
- You’ve set growth strategy yourself. You found the opportunities, made the calls, and can point to the numbers that moved because of it
- You conduct experiments at scale, pull your own data, and know the difference between a real result and noise
You've used AI tools to get real growth or productivity gains, not just experimented with them - You take rough, half-formed ideas from across the company and turn them into plans a team is excited to perform
- You’ve seen enough consumer and subscription growth to arrive with…
